암반공학을 전공하며 암반공학연구실에 소속되어 지오메카닉스와 지열에너지를 연구한다. 지하 균열망과 암반의 응력 상태, 수압자극에 따른 균열의 거동, 그리고 물과 열의 이동을 연구하며, 지열에너지 개발과 암반 수리역학에 초점을 둔다.
