자율 수중로봇(AUV) 시스템과 광학·음향 기반 수중 감지 기술을 개발하는 극한환경 필드로봇 연구를 수행한다. 호버링형 AUV의 시각정보 처리, 다중 에이전트 기반 협력 AUV 시스템, 자율 해양차량을 이용한 고해상도 음향카메라 영상 기반 실시간 객체인식 등을 연구한다.
