2005년부터 서울대 건축학과 교수로 재직하며 건설관리(시공) 분야를 연구하고 린건설연구센터를 이끌고 있다. MIT에서 프로젝트 관리·건설관리로 석박사 학위를 받았다. 미국토목학회(ASCE) Journal of Construction Engineering and Management의 분야 에디터를 맡아왔다.
